Small sketch

This is a quick study of a film still. I'm glad I did this as I learned a bunch about shading hard surfaces. They are a lot tougher than they look! I used PShop...

Life Drawings

Here are a few images from a life drawing class I was taking late last year. I was starting to make some real improvements but unfortunately things with work got too busy and I had to stop attending class. Too busy with PAX and flea bombing our house this weekend to get anything new done! =P

One more..

One more posting before I go to bed. I used a mugshot of Marilyn Manson for reference. I collect mugshots in my spare time. That's normal, isn't it?

Sketch

Here's a sketch I did earlier in the week. I drew this from a resin model I bought a few years ago at one of the conceptart.org workshops. It's great for studying anatomy. Word!

I had some fun tonight with the Spawn character. I drew this on paper and then scanned it in and used Photoshop and Painter to finish it up. Spawn is trademarked/copyrighted by McFarlane.

Betsie

This is an amplifier I built late last year. I've been doodling all night in Painter but I don't have anything worth showing so I figured I would post this. I really like how this photo turned out. The guitar was a gift from my wife. =) My wife and I decided to name the amp 'Betsie' to go with her vintage look.
I purchased the kit used to build it from Allen Amplification:

If you play guitar and like the sound of old Fender amplifiers you would love this amp.

I love the smell of solder in the morning!
Pictures of the build process can be found here.

Demon Head: Part Deux Point Five

I made a little more progress with this tonight. I'm not sure if I like the color scheme or not I'll have to give it a rest and see what I think of it tomorrrow. As usual... it's getting late and it's time for bed.

Z Brush

This is one of the first models I made in Z Brush. I absolutely LOVE this modeling program and it really bums me out that I don't get to spend more time using it. I think the rock at the bottom of the tower could have been more convincing but overall I was really happy with how this one turned out.

What is Z Brush?

The coolest modeling program ever made:

Airborne Ranger: The first stealth game?

Airborne Ranger was one of my favorite games for the Commodore 64. I really like going back and looking at some of these games from time to time because even now some of their ideas still seem so fresh and creative. In the beginning of the game you are given a mission which could include anything from killing an enemy officer to blowing up a SAM site. You then proceed to fly an airplane over enemy territory and you can drop off several supply crates before you parachute down to the ground and begin your mission on foot. You can find the crates and replenish your ammo as you progress through your mission. One of the aspects I like the most about this game is that you can maneuver through the trenches in a prone position and use a knife to dispose of your enemies to avoid attracting attention. As far as I know this was probably the first stealth game ever made.

I'd love to see a modern re-make of this game.

Airborne Ranger was published by Microprose in 1987 and the above image is copyright 1987 by Microprose.
